Meet The Couch Divas owner Tamara
Tamara began her career with animals at a very early age as a wildlife rehabilitator. She has raised all types of wildlife from the sparrow to the kestrel; small squirrel to the white tailed deer. She has experience with virtually all medium sized to small wildlife; both native and non-native; agouti, capuchin monkey, Egyptian spiny mice, opossum, skunk, fox and so much more.
She also had the pleasure of living on a farm for a few years where she enjoyed the company of Tennessee Fainting Goats and Southdown Baby Doll Sheep as well as many different types of poultry; guinea fowl, ducks, turkeys and chickens. She has raised and cared for poultry since childhood in both a suburban and country setting. Tamara believes in the importance of education. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Illinois. She keeps up to date with on the ongoing scientific discoveries about dog behavior and incorporates this information into her dog walking. She is currently surrounded by her own pups and fosters as she works with rescues dedicated to helping the throw away dog. Her foster 'specialty' is hospice care. As the owner/operator of The Couch Divas she is grateful to be partnering with some of the best dogs in the area. |
